FEATURE| Aus Taylor

                                Posted by: Toni GoHard
Aus Taylor is an up-and-coming artist emerging from Baltimore, Maryland. His style of rap i nothing like the typical DMV sound you're used too. His songs are backed up with stellar production from Richard Desire, Marlo D, and Andre Palace to name a few. "End of Time"  the first official single off his new project, The Infinite is a smooth cut dealing with both social and personal struggles, with some dope intro samples- no wonder it was chosen  to lead the project.
The rapper is known for his lyrical content on social and personal issues, he takes you on a trip inside his mind offering you all his insight and views on the world around us. His latest track "Drive-Byes" discusses the perils that young black teens, raised in the streets have to go through with guns, drugs, and corrupt police. He has dreams of making it out and witnessing America swear in it's first black president, but even that can't stop how lives of young black boy are not valued in this country giving us a cold reminder that men like George Zimmerman still exist. The vocals on this track are by Marleaux D, a voice so soothing it sets the perfect tone for this record. Aus Taylor is really something to watch out for- his highly anticipated visual "Last Chapter" is coming soon, until then he leaves us teaser to hold on to. I'm looking forward to more projects in the near future. Check out more from Aus Taylor after the jump!

FEATURE| Michael Uzowuru

                                Posted by: Toni GoHard
Odd Future. Vince Staples. Vic Mensa. What do these three all have in common? Michael Uzowuru. The 21 year-old Los Angeles based producer has been a low key, behind-the-scenes heavy weight in today's world of hip-hop production. Following the release of collaboration mixtape Winter In Prague with friend and LA based rapper Vince Staples, Uzowuru has dropped a few instrumentals off at his soundcloud page to hold us over until he drops a solo project he's currently working on. "may 10th rough draft" is probably the most played in my itunes right now. The slow and calming melodies give off soothing effect almost putting you in trance, it's one of those instrumental you wish it never end  and secretly hope no one sings or raps over because it's perfect just the way it is, no words are needed to bring this alive. This is how I personally feel about all his instrumentals, masterpieces in themselves, very few producers can say that about their work.
The laid back producer comes off rather shy but very smart and knowledgeable, you'll be more likely to find him listening to Elliot Smith or answering tumblr questions with his genius & reasonable responses from his fans then out partying all night, racking up a bad track record. He is mentored and managed by Om'mas Keith, current producer for Frank Ocean (who is also a good friend of Michael's) and member of hip-hop grouped "Sa-Ra". You can definitely see the influence that Om'mas has on Michael and the two even teamed up in the studio together towards to end of 2012 creating a new single titled "nightcap". The song has a mellow vibe to it, almost seemly perfect for a night of sex filled escapades which explains the lyrics "Drinkin' and fuckin' all night." I'm really looking forward to a full length project from Michael in the near future, this man has potential to being one of the greatest in the industry he is in a league of his own- he really truly is Beyond Category.
